Ta da! We finished.
After we finished, she kept it and finished it herself.
So now that you see the simple process, here's the deal... the first five people that contact me to set up an appointment will only pay the cost of the materials! Yes, it is so I can practice and you get a very real memory of your pregnancy! Great for both of us. After that, prices will start at $40 for a belly cast and $50 for belly and breasts.
Belly Casting Expectations
- I will travel within an hour of Idaho Falls or cast in my home for a discount.
- Bare skin has great results, but you can choose to be casted over a bra or bathing suit top that you don't mind ruining. (Kim opted to put plastic wrap over her top.)
- You'll want to wear clothes that you don't mind getting plaster on including your bra if you plan on just doing the belly. Yoga pants that can be rolled down low on the hips are a good idea. The plaster should come out but better to be safe than sorry.
- You'll need to clear a spot for me to do it, preferably where there is tile floor. I will bring a drop cloth to help keep things off the floor but something is bound to make its way there anyways!
- You'll want a chair that you don't mind getting plaster on & will be comfortable to sit in for an extended period of time or a place to stand that you can lean. I will bring a sheet to put over it, but it could still get dirty. Casts involving thigh require that you stand during them.
- Casting will usually take about an hour, sometimes longer depending on the size of the cast. Once I can remove the cast, I will finish it by cleaning up it's shape, re-enforcing the edges and other weak areas. This can take 30 minutes to an hour.
- The process is very messy! I will be using petroleum jelly to rub on the areas that the plaster strips will be put on. You will want to be able to clean up afterwards.
