Pregnancy Mentoring

You must be expecting if you're here so congratulations! I am so excited for you :-) Pregnancy is an amazing experience for women. We can learn so much about this gift of giving life, about ourselves and our spouse/partner. It is a time for growth in many ways.

Have you ever wondered where to start when it comes to learning about pregnancy and birth? Have you noticed that there is a vast amount of information out there? If you haven't, you're in for a treat! I hope you love to read! Knowledge is power. I think every parent-to-be, especially Mom, needs to educate herself on healthy pregnancy choices and options for labor and birth. We can communicate via e-mail anytime. I can also talk on the phone occasionally. If you're local, we can also meet in person to go over some of the information available and see what questons you're wanting answered.

What is Pregnancy Mentoring?
I am here to help you learn what all of your options are. Here's what I provide for your learning pleasure:

• Teaching you about Evidence-Based childbirth, what is safest for you and your baby.
• What questions to ask your doctor or midwife to see if they support your choices.
• Lending library to borrow from.
• List of films about birth. You can watch them with your spouse/partner/friend. I can also join you so if you have any questions we can discuss them right then. Popcorn anyone?
• A list of Childbirth educators available in southeast Idaho.
• A list of Birth Doulas in southeast Idaho (a woman who can support you during labor/birth. It's important to meet with several doulas to find someone you & your spouse are comfortable with).
• Help with creating a birth plan for vaginal or cesarean delivery.
• Information on vaccines and circumcision.

Is there a fee for Pregnancy Mentoring?

The only thing that I ask is that if you borrow books or a movie from me, that you do it one at a time. Books can be used for 30 days and movies for 2 weeks. If the book or movie gets lost or damaged I'm hoping to use the honor system and you would replace it.

My hope is to help you in your journey of Motherhood so that you will feel confident and knowledgeable about your pregnancy and upcoming birth. It's taken me a lot of time and reading to come to where I am and I know that I've learned more with each birth. It's a process and there's no better time than the present.
